These instructions describe how to use the Aloak Spam Filter with Microsoft Outlook Express, to move incoming messages identified as Spam to a chosen folder.
First create a mail folder to move Spam email to:
In Outlook Express, go to the file menu and select new and then folder. (If you do not see the folder option then hover your mouse over the double arrows at the bottom of the menu until it appears).
Select the top item in the folder list (usually Local Folders) and then enter in the name for the folder in the name box e.g. "Spam Mail", and then click on OK.
Next, setup a rule to move all Spam email into the new folder automatically:
From the "Tools" menu, select "Message Rules", then click "Mail..."
Check the option "Where the Subject line contains specific words".
Text appears in the lower window. Click on "specific words" to set them.
Enter "*SPAM*" (without quotes) into the Search Text box which appears and click "Add", then click OK.
Check the option "Move it to the specified folder".
Text appears in the lower window. Click on "specific folder", which lets you browse your folders. Select the desired destination folder for Spam email messages, the folder you created earlier e.g. "Spam Mail".
Enter an appropriate name for the rule in the "Name of the rule" section. e.g. "Spam Filter rule".
